Adina Camhy & Michi Schmidl, flying shark in a glass box, Installation in public space
We (Michi Schmidl and Adina Camhy) were invited to the event series “Stein im Glashaus” to talk about each other’s work and leave something behind together. We haven’t met each other before.
After our talk, we left a remote-controlled flying shark in the glass box. It reminded us of a 3D animation, an aquarium and at the same time referred to an iconic work of visual art: “The Physical Impossibility of Death in the Mind of Someone Living”, which illustrates the development of the capitalist art market.
“Stein im Glashaus” (Stone in a Glass House) was curated by Andrea Habith and Pablo Chiereghin.
A glass house in a public space in the middle of Vienna’s 20th district served as a venue for a series of artist talks and exhibitions in the summer of 2022.
With the kind support and sponsorship of: Brigittenau district and the Brigittenau District Museum, WIEN Stadtteilkultur, BMKÖS.
